Spiritual Accompaniment or Spiritual Direction is a Christian ministry of walking alongside others on their spiritual journey to encourage and enable faithful living in response to Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit.

In this relationship, the true director is the Holy Spirit. The 'Spiritual Director' seeks to be a discerning listener, who encourages recognition of the work of God and responding to him without imposing on those coming to them for Spiritual Direction or getting in their way.

This is a relationship that can be enormously helpful to the faith and life of the 'directee'. Many use words and phrases such as 'freeing', 'empowering', 'affirming', 'greater trust in God', 'knowing God's love for me', 'deeper faith', 'more focused ministry'...
